Make it right the first time, because you'll never go back and fix it

There was a woman I worked with when I first got out of school– I don’t remember her name– who taught me a very valuable lesson and I’ve never forgotten it.

“Make it right the first time, because you’ll never go back and fix it.”

This is huge. A big part of doing quality work means understanding that, yes, while you always have the opportunity to go back and make something better, you probably never will.

The first rule of blogging is this:  If you have something to say, say it. Forget about the rest of that noize on the internet about schedules, planning, focus, and yaddayadda. Just do your thing. You're worthy. You have something to say. That matters. Forget the rest.

I wrote this for Writelarge.com a few years ago, and, for the most part, it's still true. I'm going to try to get a few focused thoughts down on this site.
